Today we had pastor Rob Brown speak at chapel. He spoke about how the spirit of God is like a river.
Pastor Rob asked us:
1. Is the River in you?
2. If it is, where are you in the River?
We can choose to stand on the edge of the river, which would be comfortable and easy. Or we could stand in the river up to our knees and enjoy the comfort and coolness of the water but still have control over our footing. Or we can submerge ourselves into the river, which can be scary but requires ultimate trust in God. If a person submerges themselves into the river they have to realize that they have to listen to God's directions. God is watching and will protect them from harm.
Today's message really made me consider how much of my life I really let God control. I like the security I feel when I'm in charge of my life. However until I really jump into the river and trust God completely I cannot reach the potential He has planned for me.
DODGE BALL TOURNAMENT

Hope you guys have a great week. Post a comment if you have any suggestions or questions for DCHS or the SLC.

Royal Ball
Delmarva Christian High School will be holding it's 5th annual Royal Ball on May 1st 2009. All students are invited! The night will consist of dinner, dancing, and fellowship. Invitations will be going home next week. The price of the ticket will be $35.00.
I Thessalonians 5:11 admonishes us to ,"...encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you also are doing."
One of the great traditions that is being established here at DCHS is the Royal Ball. It is NOT about dancing, it is NOT about fancy dresses, it is NOT about cars, and it is NOT about drawing attention to ourselves.
It IS about building each other up by learning how to socially interact in a positive way.
On April 7th & 8th the students of DCHS will be taking the SAT 10 tests in the morning and participating in dance and etiquette training during the afternoon.
All parents should have received a letter stating the proper attire for the Royal Ball. All ball dresses must be approved by Mrs. Bryan. Dress check sign up sheets are in the hallway by the lockers.
If you have questions feel free to leave a comment.
