Purity is about being totally devoted to one thing without mixing in any other objects of devotion. When that one guy took some of the spoils from Jericho he was mixing in devotion to material things with his devotion to God, and it definitely did not work out. I thought it was interesting that when I looked up purity on an online dictionary, the second definition was "saturation." So not only are we devoted to only one thing, God, but we are utterly saturated with Him. We are not diluted with any other things. We are totally, entirely, exclusively, fully and utterly devoted to only Him. Now that's cool.
Remember, when you start getting overwhelmed with school or other things going on in life, the reason you are here is to honor Him. Don't give up when it gets hard. Work hard because you know you are equipping yourself to advance the Kingdom of God. That's why you are here, and it's totally worth facing all of the challenges in light of that purpose. Be totally devoted to Him and He fulfills your needs.
