Veteran's Day
As I said in chapel today, we will be beginning a Girls' Bible Study that will be right after girls' basketball practice. We would like to start it before Thanksgiving. The topics will be stand alone subjects, so if you miss a week you won't have to worry about falling behind. We need to know about how many girls are interested and what days will work best for everyone, so go ahead and comment on this post to let us know. Mrs. Bryan will also be putting a sign-up sheet in the hall opposite the lockers, so you can sign up there as well.
Accountability Meetings! I'll be tooting this horn all year! =) Thursdays during lunch in Mr. Hurst's room.
Today was Veteran's Day, but don't let this be the only time you honor our veterans.
Shoebox for Soldiers is a great way to honor the soldiers that are currently overseas. I don't need to remind you of the great sacrifices they make. See the post below for a list of things you can send.
Lastly, if you Subscribe to this blog you won't have to return to this site for updates. You'll get the new posts in your email.

Sarah

Hey Everyone!
My name is Sarah Betts, I'm a senior at DCHS and I'm gonna be managing the blog from now on.
So here's the deal: SHOEBOX FOR SOLDIERS
This is going to be our Christmas outreach project. You've probably noticed the box in the entrance to the school by now. There's a long list of things that you can bring in. We'll box it up and send our gifts overseas to our soldiers, our heroes. You can even write a letter of encouragement to one of the soldiers. Who knows, you could plant a seed of hope and truth in their hearts without ever meeting them!
Here's a list of some items that they need:
- Flashlight & batteries
- Lance crackers
- Beef jerkey
- Chewing gum
- Pringles
- Life Savers
- Crystal Light drink mixes
- Eye drops - saline solution
- Pocket tissues
- Pocket handi wipes
- Worldwide $10 phone cards
- Thermal socks
- Thermal underwear
Please be sure to get your donations by November 16th!
Thanks to everyone who has been supporting the project already!
Also: ACCOUNTABILITY MEETINGS
Thursdays in Mr. Hurst's room
In his message last Friday, Marc Hannah challenged us to be bold about spreading the gospel, especially to the people we already know who are not Christians. Many of you made personal commitments to reach out to those people. Strive to keep those commitments! Having an accountability partner will really help to keep you on track. I urge you to find someone to hold you to your word and support you in your walk with God. You don't even have to meet with us, you can have your own meetings on your own time.
Some of you have been attending the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which meets at the same time as the accountability groups, and that's great! If that is where you feel that God would have you, if that ministry is strengthening your walk, please don't feel like you have to leave it to come to our meeting. Like I said before, you can meet on your own time with your accountability partner.
Later,
Sarah

What an Amazing Week!
God has been moving at DCHS. Last week Pastor Ed DiBlasio spoke at chapel and told us about how the Lord has been working through his ministry on the streets of inner city
On Friday we hit the streets in our local community! In the first chapter of James we are instructed to look after orphans and widows and praise God we were able to just that. Mr. Sadler’s wife, Pam, works for
After we had been out working all morning we came back together at DCHS for an afternoon of Spiritual Emphasis! The Holy Spirit moved through our praise and worship and helped to settle our spirits for an amazing message from Pastor Marc Hannah. He taught us ways to overcome our fears and practical ways to witness to people. He cautioned us that Satan wants to steal our voices and he uses our worldly desires to do it. Remember this. “How much ______ in your life is too much?” Are you willing to put up with a little _____ in your life? How about in your cookies?
If you are interested in finding our more or visiting Pastor Marc’s Friday Night Fire pick up a card in the office.
Paintball on Saturday was fantastic! Check out the photos at slc.delmarvachristian.com
