Does Jesus Know You
Today in chapel Mark Hannah spoke about if God really knows us. Of course he knows our inner thoughts, our every action, all of the hairs on our heads, and our real motives, but will he know us when it really counts.
He referenced Matthew 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'" We can experience the power of God but if we are still living our lives in sin and refusing to repent then Christ will not KNOW us intimately.
This message from God spoke to my heart and convicted me about certain areas in my life. It was a lot for me to take in and I know that we as humans are never going to be completely sanctified. However I do know that if we ask God to work in our lives and commit to do his will he will shine through us and overcome our fleshly nature.
If you were impacted from this message and want God to know you more then read the Bible, pray, and definitely get an accountability partner and come to the accountability meetings held on Thursdays in Mr. Hurst's room.
