Today we had Mr. Josh James speak in chapel about prayer. He focused his sermon upon Philippians 1:3–6. In this passage, Paul does not pray for himself, but prays for others in the body of Christ. He says that they have a partnership in the body of Christ. Before the start of class when you get the option of prayer, you should not be trying to compete with your fellow classmates. Many people pray for themselves or something that is making their life stressful. Always remember that someone somewhere is in need of prayer. Also many people are breaking down emotionally. Some right in front of you, but they are successful in disguising it. Pray for someone who hasn’t been your friend. Pray for you enemy. Mr. Josh James’ purpose was not to get you to stop praying for yourself, but to also pray for others and not make your prayers a wish list.
