As many of you know, last week we took some time out of our busy academic schedule and focused on our spiritual lives. DCHS does this every March which really allows the students to get serious about their faith and to seek what God has for their lives.
This year the Spiritual Emphasis team decided to bring in a group called AXIS. They are part of the Focus on the Family organization and came all the way from Colorado. The AXIS group presented a very intense message. They gave an overview of the three biggest worldviews in the world which are, spiritualism, naturalism, and deism. They taught us what these worldviews believe and what religions they include. The way AXIS presented this information was intriguing and thought provoking. They showed clips of movies, you tube videos, and sound clips from today's most popular songs. After showing the clip AXIS explained how today's media is presenting a message that tears us down, manipulates our standard of right and wrong, and poisons our minds with ungodly thoughts. This convicted a lot of students. We were embarrassed that we knew almost every word to these songs but couldn't quote scriptures to back up our faith.
AXIS challenged us to ask questions and to develop a strong Christian worldview while we are in high school so that we do not fall into the trap the world has set for us. It has been found that only 20% of Christian teens remain spiritual Christians in their twenties.
DCHS students really took this seriously and are ready to follow God's plan not their own.
MARCHFEST 6pm to 9pm
March Fest is Friday. This an SLC hosted event and is absolutely free. There will be pizza and soda. Video games, such as wii and guitar hero will be set up in the lobby and games will be happening inside the gym. 7th & 8th grade students from local Christian schools and home school groups have been invited as well. This is going to be a really fun event, I hope you can make it!
Thanks

This is a great blog. I didn't even know it existed but I'll surely be back to see what my kids are up to at DCHS. Thanks for all of the great information and keep up the good work!
Hey, can any homeschooled student come or do they have to have been specifically invited? What if they have participated in another highschool event or j-term?
If you would like to attend March Fest and were not specifically invited please contact Kathy Bryan at kbryan@delmarvachristian.com.
Thanks for your intrest! March Fest is going to be really fun!
