This week we had our first chapel.. in my opinion it was awesome! We got to really spend time in worship and a group of students made a commitment to take hold of their thoughts in order to reap an action. That action can lead to a habit and a good habit leads to good character, and ultimately if you sow a righteous character you reap the destiny God has planned for you.
Although you may not realize it this commitment is going to be tough to up hold. Controlling your thoughts is one of the most difficult things because it is private and easy to hide from people, but you can not hide them from God. Because this is so difficult we have to keep each other accountable. When you choose an accountability partner choose someone that knows you in every aspect of life. Choose someone that will tell you the things that are hard to accept but beneficial to your spiritual walk.
If you are looking for a place where you can find some spiritual guidance or an accountability partner remember that Doc is meeting with students on Mondays for fasting and prayer. He is also holding FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meetings on Fridays. Both are held in the computer lab.
Coming up in a few weeks will be the underclassmen election for those who have a desire to join the SLC. Please begin praying about what branch of the SLC you would like to serve on. More info will be annouced soon!
